Getting Started

First I found a nice flat surface that I could glue and cut on and not worry about any damage. You might have a work table that you like to use for building models. In my case, I used an old piece of 3/4" thick plywood about 3 feet square and layed it atop a couple of sawhorses. At first I started in the living room but the project was quickly moved out to the garage away from the curious hands of my 1 year old daughter. Here, you see my workspace complete with glue, hobby knives, sand paper, and a pencil, along with my 5 year old son who is eagerly awaiting the final product!
